Kingfisher Fair – What Is It and Why Do We Do It?

For many years, the Kingfisher Fair has been a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together with the wider Albany community, have some fun, and showcase the many talents that make Great Southern Grammar so special.

This year’s Fair is even more special, as we welcome several alumni back to help us celebrate. Former student and House Captain, Sophie York (2015, Mokare), will be our MC for the day, and the Warren sisters will be bringing their van to serve their delicious bagels. It is wonderful to see past students returning to be part of the event and celebrate alongside our current community.

The Fair is about much more than great food and entertainment. On the same day, the school will also be hosting an Open Day. While this provides an opportunity for prospective families to learn more about Great Southern Grammar, it is also a chance for current families to gain a deeper insight into the learning experiences and activities our students enjoy every day.

We encourage all families to take the opportunity to explore the Open Day activities and discover more about the vibrant life of our school.

How to Enjoy the Amusements at Kingfisher Fair! 

There will be plenty of free activities and entertainment to enjoy throughout the day. The P&F has organised a selection of amusements. To access these, wristbands are available to purchase from Reception for $15 (cash or EFTPOS) and include five turns on participating attractions. 

Wristband attractions: Laserscape, Giant Maze inflatable, Tractor Combo inflatable, Gladiator inflatable, Little Pirate inflatable, 20ft Accelerator Slide inflatable and 9-Hole Mini Golf. 

Grammar grown Wine – Pre-Order Form 

We are excited to offer Grammar grown wine for pre-order ahead of the Kingfisher Fair and Open Day on Sunday 13 September. 

For one day only, wine orders can be paid for in person or over the phone via Reception. To secure your order early, please complete the form here.

Whole School Arts Exhibition ‘Our Place’ 

During the Kingfisher Fair & Open Day, there will also be the Whole School Arts Exhibition, 'Our Place', showcasing student artwork. 

Artwork will be on display in the Annette Knight Centre (Music Building) and the Hall from 11.00am to 3.00pm. 

The Official Opening and Grammar grown Wine Launch will take place from 2.00pm to 3.00pm in the Annette Knight Centre.
