Interhouse Swimming
Despite the cold, wet weather it was a successful day at the annual interhouse swimming carnival. Mr Price as the DJ paired with the sausage sizzle and participation from all houses ensured the day was one enjoyed by all.

Students cheering on their houses and helped create an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation, with everyone hoping to take out the win. However Hartzer’s continuous cheering throughout the day helped them take home the House Cheering Trophy.

Despite all the houses pushing themselves in the pool, Piperon managed to win the day with all their participation.

This year we also held a staff v student relay that had staff from each house competing against our Year 12 students. This race showed our true school spirit with everyone getting behind the race.

Thank you to all the students and staff who participated in the day, whether that be in the pool, cheering from the sidelines or volunteering throughout the day.

Glenelg Division Swimming
On 19th February, the Monivae swim team set out for GD swimming, although a little cool to start with the swimmers were very keen. We kicked off with the long distance events that served as a great start to the day and got everyone warmed up for the shorter events. Although a little under manned in the 17 year age group, the team was a force to be reckoned with as we powered our way through the races. Everyone put their best foot forward on the day, especially in the relays. Overall the swim team had a strong day in the pool, although with missing a full age group of swimmers meant we were unable to reach our full potential.
Monivae came second to Hamilton College in Boys, Girls and Overall.
Congratulations to the swimmers who won their respective age group championships - Eva Outtram, Zoe Withers, Oliver Homer, Liam Withers.

Huge thanks to Mrs Rowe, Mrs Houlihan, Ms Keath for ensuring the day went well with swimmers in correct races as well as timekeeping throughout the day.
