VM and VET 2025 Achievements
Anne Gough
Last year again proved a most successful year for the VM/VET faculty. All Vocational Major Year 12 students graduated to various employment opportunities. Twelve took full time apprenticeships in the following areas plumbing, building, mechanical fitting & turning, hairdressing, bricklaying, agriculture and cabinet making. A further three students went to traineeships in early childhood, office administration and a beauty traineeship. The remaining three students of the cohort went to employment.
At Year 11 in VCEVM five students decided to transfer to a full-time apprenticeship from their School-based apprenticeship. These were in the areas of diesel mechanic, forestry, building, agriculture and engineering fabrication. One student left for an early childhood traineeship.
We congratulate all these students and wish them well in their new endeavours.
VET
Students who did the scored assessment in their in VET subjects produced pleasing results. In Sport, Aquatics and Recreation scores of 43 and 41 were achieved with most other results in the 30s. A score in the 30s is considered a solid academic performance.
Only two students did a scored Engineering with results of 30 and 34 and in Equine there was a score of 35.
There were also VET students achieving awards from HDSC in Certificate II in Automotive and Certificate II in Salon and at SW TAFE in Cert II in Agriculture. RIST also gave an award to one of our Cert II and Cert III Agriculture students.
The faculty again looks forward to working with our students so that they achieve to their full potential.
