We have had a great start to 2026, I have been impressed with the positive student attitudes and willingness to engage with staff and other students.

Organisational Information for 2026

Buses:

  • Thank you to the parents/guardians who have registered their children with STAP and have been allocated places on shuttles and country buses.

  • Monivae has re-organised some of the shuttle buses to ensure that all siblings are on the same bus – please use the shuttle bus recorded on the pass that I have handed out.

  • If students have not yet collected their shuttle pass, please come and see me ASAP.

  • Shuttle buses are only to be used by country bus students (those who travel from Monivae to Baimbridge and then further to the outlying areas from town).

  • Buses 8 and 14 – the “town buses” continue to experience overcrowding.  We have forwarded our usage numbers to Trotters to include in their application for a third bus. Unfortunately, at this point, we do not have any further information.

  • There is still no room on any bus going to Dunkeld or Glenthompson for any reason. Please do not ask for a sport pass for these buses as you will not be given one.

  • If you need to catch a bus for any reason (without being registered), please email reception@monivae.vic.edu.au with your request at least 3 days in advance as many buses are already at capacity.  There is a cost if you are travelling to Portland, payable in advance, depending on availability – limited seats.

  • If you have any bus queries, please email mferey@monivae.vic.edu.au

Uniform:

  • The change to wearing PE uniform has been welcomed by students and parents alike, along with staff who no longer need to factor in time to change before and after practical lessons, thus increasing teaching time.

  • The old “Spicer” jacket (navy and pale blue) is no longer able to be worn.  It has not been available to purchase since 2022, with 2025 being the last year it was part of the uniform.

  • The Canterbury jacket can still be worn with a phase out date of 2030.

  • School uniform items are dependent on our ability to source items and consider the cost to families.  Changes are not made lightly, and we aim to minimise these for all concerned.  Sometimes, this is beyond our control with companies discontinuing items and/or implementing significant price rises.

  • The new PE guidelines were emailed out to all students and parents this week.

  • The new PE jacket has arrived at Accurate and is available for purchase now.

  • If a student has a practical subject on a day when they wear their PE uniform, they MUST bring leather topped shoes to meet the OH&S requirements.

  • Just a reminder that hats are to be worn in Term 1 and 4 at all recess and lunch breaks and during outside PE lessons – these can be purchased from Reception for $10.

  • Monivae socks are also available at Reception for $6/pair.
