Emotional Wellbeing Matters

Emotional Wellbeing Matters

At Pioneer Village School, we understand that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and connected. The school Social Worker works alongside students, families, and staff to support emotional wellbeing, social challenges, and connections to helpful services within the school and wider community.

Students can be referred for Social Work support through the school referral process. Families are encouraged to speak with their child’s classroom teacher if they have concerns or would like to discuss support options.

At our school, we recognise that children and young people thrive when they feel emotionally supported, connected, and understood. The role of the Social Worker is to support students and families with emotional wellbeing, social challenges, and connection to support services both within the school and the wider community.

Social Work support may help students who are experiencing:

• Anxiety, stress, or emotional difficulties

• Friendship or peer relationship concerns

• Family changes or challenges

• Difficulty managing emotions or behaviour

• Low confidence, school engagement, or social isolation Families can access Social Work support by:

• Speaking with your child’s classroom teacher

• Contacting the school office

• Requesting a meeting with the school wellbeing team.

If you would like to discuss support for your child or learn more about the service, families are encouraged to contact the school.
