Parent/Teacher Interviews were a great success!

Parent/Teacher Interviews were held over the second and third week of this term, with parents and carers of students across the school, meeting with their child’s teacher to discuss their learning and wellbeing growth during the first semester of this year. Parent/Teacher interviews are an important opportunity for parents and carers and teachers to partner to support the learning, wellbeing, and engagement of our students. Thank you, to our parents and carers, for making time for this important opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher/s. If you have not had the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, please get in contact with them to arrange a suitable time.

Walk to School – We’d Love Your Feedback!

Over the past year, Bimbadeen participated in the Walk to School program, alongside changes to parking and the introduction of designated walking routes to help make active travel to and from school safer and easier for our families.

We are pleased to see many students and families continuing to walk, ride or scoot to school, including families choosing to park a little further away and walk the remaining distance.

To help evaluate the impact of the program and the recent infrastructure and parking changes, families are invited to complete a short Walk to School Parent Survey.

Safe Crossings, Safe Kids

The safety of our students is always our highest priority, and with busy drop-off and pick-up times each day, we ask all members of our school community to help keep our children safe.

School crossings are there to protect our students and are the workplace of our dedicated School Crossing Supervisors. Whether you are driving, walking or riding, please take extra care around our school by:

Slowing down and obeying the 40 km/h school zone speed limit.
Stopping whenever a School Crossing Supervisor displays the handheld STOP sign or when children are crossing.
Waiting until all pedestrians, including the crossing supervisor, have safely left the crossing before driving on.
Never overtaking a vehicle that has stopped at a school crossing.
Remaining alert for children near roads and crossings at all times.

Pedestrians also play an important role in keeping everyone safe. Please use the school crossing whenever possible, look carefully in both directions before crossing, and make sure approaching drivers have stopped before stepping onto the road.

Parking Reminder - Hayrick Lane

As a reminder, the parking restrictions on Hayrick Lane at the front of the school remain in place to help ensure the safety of our students and the smooth flow of traffic.

This area is a No Parking zone designed for quick drop-off and pick-up only between the hours of 8am-9am and 3pm and 4pm. Drivers must remain with their vehicle and move on within two minutes.

Please be aware that Yarra Ranges Council regularly monitors the parking restrictions around our school, including periodic compliance checks, and infringement notices may be issued where parking regulations are not followed.

If you wish to walk your child into school, we encourage you to park in the surrounding streets and enjoy the short walk together.

Donate Life Week

DonateLife Week started on Sunday 26 July and runs until Sunday 2 August 2026.

It is a public awareness week encouraging more Australians to support organ and tissue donation.  

Anyone in Australia aged 16 and over can register on the Australian Organ Donor Register to be an organ and tissue donor. It only takes one minute to register.

Organ and tissue donation can save and change the lives of people who, in many cases, are seriously ill or dying. To read stories of people who have received donations, refer to Donation stories on the DonateLife website.

Prep bags 2027 design competition now open

The Department of Education is inviting current Prep students at Victorian government schools to enter its Prep bags 2027 design competition.

This is an exciting opportunity for your child to showcase their creativity for a chance to see their design featured on the front of next year’s Prep bags. These will be given to thousands of students starting Prep at a Victorian government school next year.

How to take part

Designs must reflect the theme - My year of Prep.

Submissions can be either hand drawn or digitally designed. It must be your child’s original work.

Drawings must be in black marker on white paper. Digital designs must be in black on a white background.

You can upload your child’s submission as either a JPEG or PNG file.

Entries close at 11:59 pm on Sunday 9 August 2026.

The department will judge all entries, with the winner announced later this year.
