Faith Week

This week our College community came together to celebrate Faith Week with lots of fun activities, guest speakers and an opportunity to learn more about God. The theme this year was “No fear in God’s unconditional love for us”, and it is based on the below scripture.

“There’s no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”  

1 John 4:18 

This theme was chosen to remind everyone that God’s love is all mighty and powerful, and fear would not have the capacity to exist in it. Throughout our lives, we all experience fear in different ways, whether it is fear of failure, uncertainty, feeling alone or not being enough. We wanted this theme to remind our College community that God's love is unconditional. His love gives us hope, peace and courage, and when we place our trust in Him, we can face life's challenges knowing that we are never alone. We hope this theme encouraged everyone, no matter where they are in their faith journey, to reflect on God's love and the comfort it brings.

For this Faith Week, we encouraged our Junior and Senior School students to participate in a range of activities. On Monday, we put up the Gratitude Wall where students could write down and display something they are grateful for. We aim for this to be a long-term tradition, surpassing Faith Week as we believe reflecting on what you are grateful for is an important life skill, and it also reminds us there are many things to be grateful for even when life is challenging us. Some Year 12 students also volunteered to read bible stories to our Prep and Year 1 students as a way to connect with those in youngest grades. We also hosted a scavenger hunt at lunchtime where students from across the school competed in finding Mini-Jesus figurines placed around the school. 

On Tuesday, we started to paint our Faith Week 2026 banner, where everyone in the school is welcomed to contribute, symbolising how we are all together in God’s Kingdom. 

On Wednesday, the Junior students wrote a gratitude note on a heart, which was then linked together with ribbon and hung around the Chapel. We also had the long-awaited Faith Week cake at lunch, more banner painting and a worship session where Christian songs are played for all to enjoy. 

Finally, face painting was offered today for Junior students while Years 10 to 12 welcomed guest speaker Emma from Hillsong for a Q&A session. ISCF held try-outs where members were encouraged to bring a new friend to attend ISCF for the first time. Final activities tomorrow include games on the oval where everyone is welcomed to participate. 

My favourite part of Faith Week was spending time with the Prep students and reading Bible stories to them. It was so special seeing them remember me afterwards and get excited to say hello. Seeing students of all ages come together throughout the week, whether through the activities, worship or simply sharing God's love with one another, made Faith Week even more meaningful. Those little moments reminded us how special it is to build community and share God's love in simple ways.

My favourite thing about faith week is that the entire school gets to come together to celebrate God’s love and what he has done to us. I am so happy to see everyone participating in various activities that Hadassah and I have planned and embraced the joy of it.
