Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Due to unforeseen technical issues with iNaavi unfortunately our newsletter failed to email to our families yesterday. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the delay in circulating the newsletter to you. May you enjoy reading all the wonderful happenings in the newsletter.

In the Roman Catholic tradition, the feast of All Saints is celebrated on 1st of November followed by the feast of All Souls on 2nd of November. The celebrations of All Saints and All Souls recalls those who now share in the gift of eternal life those who now see God face to face.

Saints are those formally recognised by the Catholic Church as living lives faithful to the gospel. The Feast of All Souls remembers all the departed recognising their gift of new life. Within the Catholic tradition, life after death is changed but not ended. During the month of November, we recall those who have died.

Our Catholic Tradition and Halloween

As a Catholic school, we do not celebrate Halloween at school. While we understand that some families may choose to take part in community activities, our focus remains on honouring traditions that reflect our Catholic faith and values.

As a Catholic community, we take this time of year to focus on the true meaning behind All Hallows’ Eve (Halloween), All Saints’ Day (November 1), and All Souls’ Day (November 2). These days are an important part of our faith tradition, a time to remember, honour and give thanks for the saints and all those who have gone before us. While Halloween has become a popular cultural event, its modern celebrations often overlook its Christian origins. As a Catholic school, we choose not to celebrate Halloween.

World Teachers Day - Friday October 30th

World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the wonderful work of our teachers and the important role they play in inspiring, supporting and empowering our learners every day.

We encourage all our students to take a moment to say thank you to their teachers for their care, dedication and commitment to helping them learn and grow. A simple thank you can make a big difference!

Bunnings BBQ

A Special Thank You to Our Wonderful Parent Community!

Thank you to all the parents and families who braved the cold and miserable weather on Sunday to support our Bunnings BBQ. Your time, generosity and willingness to help are truly appreciated! It was a wonderful example of our school community coming together, reminding us that many hands make light work!

A very special thank you to our dedicated P&F team for their outstanding organisation, commitment and hard work in making the event such a success. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive and generous parent community at St Fidelis.

Thank you for being such an important part of our St Fidelis community!

STEMMAD Showcase – A Wonderful Day!

What a wonderful day was had by all the schools that participated in our STEMMAD Showcase last Thursday! It was fantastic to see students sharing their creativity, innovation, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

A special congratulations and  thank you to Joe Frazzetto for his outstanding work in organising and hosting this event. Bringing together students and educators from across our local school network provided a valuable opportunity for learning, connection and inspiration.

We are incredibly proud of Joe’s dedication to STEM education and the opportunities he continues to create for our students and the wider community. Well done, Joe!

St Fidelis Centenary Celebrations – Exciting Plans Ahead!

A big thank you to the parents who attended last weeks Centenary Meeting and shared their ideas and enthusiasm for celebrating 100 years of St Fidelis in 2027!

There are some exciting plans in the works to mark this very special milestone in our school’s history. We look forward to sharing more details about our centenary celebrations and upcoming events with our school community soon.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make this a memorable celebration for our entire St Fidelis community!

Reminder: School Closure Day and Melbourne Cup Public Holiday

A reminder to families that Monday 2 November is a School Closure Day. There will be no school for the students and MACSEYE Before and After School Care will not operate.
