Australian Rowing Championships - Lake Barrington
The Senior First Eight recently competed at the Australian Rowing Championships held at Lake Barrington, capping off a rewarding season. Facing a week of challenging conditions and a schedule that required constant adaptability, the crew demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the regatta.
The girls delivered a strong performance, finishing 7th in the Schoolgirl Eight. The Championships provided a fitting conclusion to their campaign, highlighting the crew’s growth and commitment. Congratulations to all members of the Senior First Eight on a fantastic season and for representing the School with pride.
Australian Junior Rowing Team – Emma P (Year 12)
Congratulations to Emma P (Year 12) who has recently been selected to represent Australia in the upcoming World Rowing Under 19 Championships in August. Emma will be representing Australia in the Under 19 Women’s Pair which will race in Bulgaria from the 6 – 9 August.
2026 Victorian Pathways Women’s Eight
Congratulations to Belle PT (Year 11) and Alex A (Year 12) who have been selected to represent Victoria in the upcoming 2026 Interstate Pathways Regatta at the Sydney International Regatta Centre on the 13 and 14 April.
Australian Athletics Junior Championships
Congratulations to Izzy F and Imogen B who recently competed at the Australian Athletics Junior Championships in Brisbane.
Izzy F (Year 9) delivered an outstanding meet:
- 1st - 4x100m (46.20, CR, PB)
- 3rd - 4x200m (1:39.71, PB)
- 8th - 200m Final (25.14)
- 13th PB - Triple Jump (10.81m)
Imogen B (Year 8) showed great consistency and progression in her events:
- SB - 400m (1:04.93)
- PB - Long Jump (5.07m)
- PB - Triple Jump (10.38m)
All-Age Swimming Nationals
Over the school holidays, six St Catherine's swimmers headed to the Gold Coast to compete at the Swimming Australia All-Age Nationals carnival.
Victoria, Ivy, Kimberly, Mariella (Year 8), Vera (Year 11) and Nell (Year 12) competed in a wide-ranging number of events across the weeks championships and were very successful.
Nell secured a personal best (PB) in her favourite event the 50m Butterfly and 14th overall. Nell also finished Top 30 in the 100m Freestyle.
Vera swam two PB's, coming 11th in 50m Breaststroke B Final and 13th in the 100m Breaststroke B Final. Vera also secured a top 30 finish in the 200m Backstroke.
Mariella finished 10th overall in the A Final in the 200m Butterfly, as well as getting a PB in the 100m Butterfly B Final, finishing 13th overall.
Ivy swam very well, getting a PB in her event, 50m Breaststroke.
Kimberly swam in multiple disciplines, finishing with four PB's in 100m Breaststroke (6th overall), 200m Individual Medley A Final (7th overall), 200m Breaststroke A Final (6th overall) and 50m Butterfly A Final (5th overall).
Finally, Victoria finished the carnival with two top 30 finishes, in the 200m Backstroke and the 50m Backstroke.
An incredible achievement from all our swimmers, who have been simply superb all year. Congratulations from the entire School community.
