Hello JMSS community,
As Term 2 comes to a close, it’s worth reflecting on what has been an incredibly busy and rewarding few months for our school community.
One of the highlights of the term was the Year 10/11 Formal, which gave students the opportunity to come together outside of the classroom and celebrate the year so far. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves, making memories with friends, and taking a well-earned break from the usual pace of school life. A great deal of work went into organising the evening, and the result was a memorable event that many students will look back on fondly.
The Science Exhibition Night was another standout event. Opening its doors to more than 1,000 visitors, the evening welcomed parents, academics, industry professionals and members of the wider community to explore the impressive work produced by our Year 10 students. The quality of the projects on display was exceptional, reflecting months of curiosity, creativity and dedication. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase not only the scientific talent within our school but also the enthusiasm and passion that students bring to their learning.
More recently, students across the school have navigated another exam period. While exams are never the easiest part of the year, the commitment shown throughout the revision process was admirable. Whether results met expectations or provided opportunities for growth, every student should be proud of the effort invested over the past few weeks.
To finish the term on a high note, Battle of the Bands provided a chance for some of JMSS’s hidden talents to take centre stage. The performances were outstanding, and it was incredible to see so many musicians sharing their passion and entertaining the school community. Events like these are a reminder that JMSS is not only a place of academic excellence, but also one filled with creativity, talent and school spirit.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Term 2 such a success. As we head into the Semester 2 break, take the opportunity to rest, recharge and spend time doing the things you enjoy. We hope everyone returns refreshed, motivated and ready for an energetic start to Term 3.
