From the Principal

Last Tuesday, Endeavour College was proud to host our annual Intercollegiate competition against Cornerstone College, bringing together students, staff and supporters for an afternoon of spirited competition and College pride.

The annual Intercol has become a much-anticipated event on our sporting calendar, providing our students with the opportunity to represent Endeavour across AFL, soccer, netball and basketball. This year’s competition was particularly close, with both Colleges recording two victories apiece.

Our Boys Soccer team secured an exciting 3–2 win, with Luke Carr recognised as Endeavour’s Best on Ground. The Girls Basketball team also delivered a strong performance, claiming a 50–25 victory, with Jess Loveday named Best on Court.

Cornerstone proved too strong in the Boys AFL, winning by 14 goals to seven, with Jett Carr recognised as Endeavour’s Best on Ground. In Girls Netball, Cornerstone recorded a 43–24 win, with Sienna Raphael named Endeavour’s Best on Court.

With the final result sitting at 2–2, the Intercollegiate Shield remains with Cornerstone College as the reigning holders following their victory last year. While we would have loved to bring the Shield back to Endeavour, our students should be extremely proud of the way they represented the College throughout the afternoon.

Beyond the results, Intercol is about much more than the scoreboard. It is an opportunity to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship and the positive relationship between our two College communities.

Congratulations to all students who competed and represented Endeavour with pride, and thank you to the staff, coaches, officials and supporters who contributed to another successful Intercollegiate event.

We look forward to the challenge again next year and another opportunity to bring the Shield home.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

Additionally, by way of update, every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

year of schooling
category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.

This information assists schools to:

formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The College will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information.
