Whole School Events

We are excited about our whole school events this term. Please be sure to note the following events in your calendars:
Day for Daniel (Wear red to school) - Monday 27th October
Mackellar will be observing 'Day for Daniel' - Australia's largest child safety education and awareness day which not only honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe but also ensures an ongoing awareness program for child safety. On this day, all classes will conduct a lesson based around safety. Daniel was a boy who was unaware of his safety network and the places he could go to get the help that he needed. He entered a stranger's car. His parents couldn't find him and they were really worried about him.
Daniel was wearing red on the day that he was lost, and this is why we encourage children to wear red. Also on this day, an officer from the Victorian Police will be attending our Monday morning assembly who will discuss safety networks students can access for help when they feel unsafe.
We encourage all students to WEAR RED to school on Monday 27th October.
Remembrance Day Service - Tuesday 11th November (10.50am to 11.20am)
There will be a whole school Remembrance Day Service on Remembrance Day. We sincerely look forward to a meaningful service that will be led by our grade 6Junior School Council leaders.
Disco Party (Wear your party clothes) - Friday 28th November
There will be 2 after school sessions:
Prep and Grades 1, 2 and 3 students at 3.45pm to 4.30pm
Grades 4, 5 and 6 students at 4.30pm to 5.30pm
Toy Fund Concert - Monday 15th December (9.00am to 9.30am)
Once again, our annual Toy Fund Concert will be held on the final Monday of the school year during our usual assembly time. We sincerely hope that everyone can attend. Students may wear Christmas inspired outfits if they want to.
