State Netball Championships
Last week, our Juniors, Inters, and Senior netball teams all competed in the State Netball Championships held in Melbourne. Each team gave their best and represented Loreto College with great spirit and pride. Here’s how they went:
- Juniors - Won all 5 round games and made it to the knock-out semi-finals. They lost to Rowville High School, who went on to win the grand final.
- Inters - Finished 3rd in their pool. The top team from their pool won the grand final.
- Seniors - Finished 4th in their pool. The top team from their pool also won the grand final.
A massive well done to the entire netball squad. We’re so proud of your efforts!
Australian Blind Football
Phoebe Buck - Year 12 participated in the Australian Blind Football Grand Final and came away with the win! Go Saints!
The Bella Davies Team First Award
Loreto College's Bella Davies (Class of 2024) became the GWV Rebels Girls Program games record holder for the 2025 season. She has been an outstanding contributor to our program and makes everyone a better person (both players and staff) as she continues to put others first before herself. The GWV Rebels reported on Instagram
'Bella is just a one in a million person, that we at the Rebels have been so lucky to have in our program'.
From 2026 the Team First Award will now be known as ‘The Bella Davies’ Team First Award. Congratulations Bella!
BAS Cross Country
Another terrific team effort from the Loreto Cross Country Squad on 13 August as we had the opportunity to run over the National Cross Country course in Victoria Park; compete with logs, hills and mud crossings. Our team did exceptionally well to win both Junior and Inter sections and come third overall in the Senior with a gutsy and depleted team due to injury and illness. Special mention to our placegetters; Ruby Trenorden - 2nd, Aria Violini - 1st, Amali Torney 2nd and Bonnie Burt - 1st. We went down by only one point to Ballarat Grammar in the aggregate - 124 pts to 123 pts. Well done to following students on their participation and efforts.

Cross Country Nationals
A huge congratulations to Eleanor Downey (4th), Aria Violini (12th), Amali Torney (42nd) and Bonnie Burt (15th) who represented Victoria and their clubs (& LC) in the National Cross Country Championships held at Victoria Park held in late August. It was a terrific afternoon of running with lots of people there cheering them on.
