Term 3 Term Tea &

Soccer Carnival

Many thanks to everyone who came along to our recent Term Tea.  It was a great celebration of our students as well as their achievements and growth this past term.  Following our awards program, we enjoyed a beautiful night under the lights with clear skies and a gentle breeze.   The food and fellowship were great as we cheered on our students competing in our annual house soccer carnival.

Our 10th annual soccer carnival had three competitive categories—primary girls, primary boys, and open mixed. Qualifying matches were held during the final week of term, with teams topping their pool progressing directly to their respective grand finals where they awaited winners from the term tea preliminary matches.

Primary girls - After being tied at 1-1 for a considerable portion of the match, Agape scored to secure a 2-1 victory over Eirene. Makrothumia were too strong in the final, running out 6-0 winners.

Primary boys - Favourites Agape awaited the winner of Eirene and Makrothumia, with Makrothumia prevailing 1-0 on penalties after a closely fought 0-0 stalemate. Although made to work for it, Agape completed a convincing 2-0 win in the final.

Open mixed - The most closely contested category of the evening delivered excitement as all teams had ample firepower and a significant chance of winning. Despite finishing bottom of the table, Agape were cruising with a 2-0 lead over Eirene before two goals in the last five minutes tied the score, prompting a penalty shoot-out. Eirene dominated this, advancing 2-0 on penalties to face Makrothumia. Neither team could score in the final, so penalties were again required to find a winner, with Makrothumia holding on to win 3-2.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this a great evening, including our referees, Dr Tim Wong, Max Mannes and Joshua Mitchell.
