Assistant Principal - International Student Program

Congratulations to the following students who complete their English Language Centre course today and are ready to join classes in Term 2: Zhiying (Gordon) Xu, Junyu (Jason) Lin, Ruotong (Rouna) Chen, Hao (Kevin) Lu, Taro Sato, Konosuke Ijima & Jianuo (Jayden) Yang. We are incredibly proud of your achievements. 

This term we welcomed 30 new international students who started at Elwood College from the following countries: China, Germany, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, South Korea, Iran and USA. 

Sadly we will have 2 Students depart at the end of this term. Zoe Bruggmann and Hanna Hortel who have both been in Year 11. We wish them well for their studies back in Germany and it has been a pleasure to host you at Elwood College. 

Camps and Activities

40 students went on the Study Abroad Camp to the Gold Coast, Queensland from 23rd to 26th March. The camp was an amazing experience showcasing all that Gold Coast has to offer for students ranging from the beaches, to the theme parks and the wildlife reserves. 

We held our termly birthday celebrations for all International students who have their birthdays in January, February and March. This is an important part of our program as we support them while the students are away from their families. 

We hosted 15 students and two teachers from the Doshisha International School in Kyoto over two days. The students were in classes with local students learning about our school and the Victorian Curriculum. Well done to our local students who were amazing ambassadors for the visitors. The students were Tamara Palos, Toby Lopata, Ruby Paterson, Sasha Mischel, Ingrid Baricevic, Jasmine Kalinski, Jemma Friday and Tamia Laititi Alexander.
