Academic and Personal Development

The Year 7 NAPLAN testing was successfully completed in Week 7. Students conducted themselves with impressive maturity across the Writing, Reading, Language Conventions, and Numeracy components. Participation rates showed fantastic gains, reflecting a strong commitment to learning. (Year 7 Reading: 97%; Year 7 Writing: 97% ; Year 7 Numeracy: 95%)

To support emotional wellbeing, our students participated in Toolbox Workshops. The theme of the Year 7 workshop focused on Emotion Regulation to build resilience, and the Year 8s explored Thinking Traps and how to foster a positive mindset.

Year 7 Transition and Leadership

The Year 7 cohort has enjoyed a smooth transition into high school life. Following two weeks of intensive orientation covering everything from Google Classroom and Compass to locker management and cyber-safety. Our Parent Welcome Picnic was a great success, allowing families and staff to connect in a relaxed setting. Teachers report that the cohort is settling in exceptionally well.

After interviewing many outstanding candidates, we are thrilled to announce Manu Pribicevic and Ella Elidemir as our new Year 7 Captains.

We are proud of our Year 8 students who have stepped up as mentors and buddies to support the Year 7s through their first term.

Camps and Outdoor Education

Year 7 Bayview Adventure Camp took place from March 25th–27th with approximately 90 students attending. They spent the three days building friendships and tackling new challenges.

Planning for the Year 8 Lake Dewar Camp has commenced, which will take place in Term 3.

Activities

Activity levels have been high as students compete for House points.  Students recently competed in the Cross Country event, and our senior students successfully hosted a popular lunchtime soccer tournament.

The upcoming production of Honk! is being led by our Junior School talent, featuring 15 Year 7 and 17 Year 8 performers.

In partnership with the City of Port Phillip, we are organising a live music performance for National Reconciliation Week 2026. This event will celebrate Indigenous stories and local culture.
