Across the Middle School, classes are in full swing, with their first CATs completed. In Year 9 NAPLAN has been completed successfully with high participation across all tests.

Four students will head to the School for Student Leadership in Term 2, with an additional four students being offered a Rotary Leadership camp for a weekend of leadership opportunities. 

Future Directions

Students participated in The Melbourne Uni Project, which had a mindfulness focus. The groups are now finished except for a follow-up survey in Term 2. Students reported positive outcomes from the mindfulness activity group. The project was run by an Elwood College graduate, who is a PhD candidate.  

In Year 9, students have completed their Character Strengths survey and been introduced to the Banqer High program, an online platform to teach financial literacy. They will be using this program during Terms 2 & 3 to learn about banking and money matters. 

In Year 10, work experience is the current goal with Ms Roberts delivering an assembly, and our first student has already completed their placement.
