Subject Selection Period - Term 3

In recent weeks, many students across Years 9 to 11 have made subject change requests for Semester 2. In most cases, these changes were accommodated via a process that required students to submit their request, parents to approve that request and the College to review each request and, where appropriate, make the change. This process was orchestrated largely through the program ‘SchoolData’, which enables changes to be made and tracked as they progress. We worked closely with many families with very positive outcomes in the majority of cases.

Term 3 is the time that we commence a larger yet similar process, whereby students select their subjects for the 2027 school year.  We recognise our role in providing information to make informed subject choices as well as ensuring that the process allows the selection of subjects to run smoothly. The SchoolData program will be used again here - it is easily accessible for students via SIMON- with clear timelines and information sessions.

Our first information session was held on Monday for our Year 10 2027 students interested in VCE Acceleration. It was well attended and provided insight that relates to those students who both want to pursue VCE in the Senior Years of education as well as believe they are capable of engaging in an accelerated program.

We also have two important evening events in early Term 3 that will help students choose their subjects for next year. We strongly recommend that students and families attend to support decision making. Further details will be sent via email and we look forward to seeing you there.

Monday 20 July - Year 10 2027 Subject Selection Information Evening

Tuesday 21 July - Year 11 2027 Senior Pathways Expo and Subject Selection Evening. Tertiary providers will also be present, and our Year 12 2027 students are welcome to attend.

Our Year 9 2027 students and familieswill have access to information on Elective Subject Selection in Term 3, week 3. This will outline the possibilities for selection of electives.

In all cases, information regarding subject selection is available via the Subject Selection Website which is accessible via the Student and Parent Portals once live.

All current subject information is hosted on this site, with access to material open to parents and students alike, as well as links to contact staff or complete relevant forms.

Whilst busy, this period involves rich conversations regarding the future of our young people. We look forward to engaging in these conversation with students and families alike and supporting all parties to make what can be significant life decisions.
