Messages from School Council

Hello Alvie PS Community,

We’d like to take a moment to update you on the discussions held at our most recent School Council meeting on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Time Capsule for 2025:The School Council has decided to create a time capsule to be opened in 2075, marking the 50-year anniversary of the school. We’d love to hear from our families about any items you think would be meaningful to include in the capsule. Your suggestions are welcome!

Blazer Purchases: We’ve approved the purchase of the following items from the student excellence budget:

• 4 student-owned blazers (black, embroidered with the school logo and the student’s role, such as ‘School Captain’, including their name)
• 4 school-owned blazers

This will be subject to available funding.

Policy Review: Several Alvie Primary School policies were reviewed, and some amendments are required. These will be discussed further and presented for approval at the next School Council meeting on Wednesday, August 6.

Flooring Upgrade: We’re excited to announce that the flooring in the senior learning space, hallway, and wellbeing room will soon be replaced, creating a more comfortable and conducive environment for learning.

Canteen Order Changes: Finally, after considering the impact on workload for both the canteen and administration, we’ve decided to discontinue the option for canceling canteen orders. This change aims to streamline operations and reduce administrative strain.
