Principal's message

I am thrilled to be Acting Principal at Alive Primary School this term. My journey in education has taken me across Geelong, as well as small country schools in New South Wales and Western Australia. Through these experiences, I have developed a deep passion for ensuring equity in quality education, and I strongly believe that small schools are mighty schools.

I have truly enjoyed starting to get to know our incredible staff, students, and families, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead. One of the exciting developments I'm most thrilled about is the broody hen sitting on fertilised eggs in the hen house, kindly donated by one of our school families. With any luck in a couple of weeks we will welcome some fluffy little additions!

I am also incredibly impressed with the leadership demonstrated by our senior students, as well as the engagement and resilience shown by all our students. A special mention to the Year 3/4 class, who have adapted with such strength and positivity despite several staffing changes—your resilience is inspiring! I know we're all excited to meet Mr Josh Frederick next week.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to participate in the Warrion Flower Show, and we will be hosting a produce/herbs/flowers stall. If any parents are interested in helping us prepare dried herbs or have other ideas to contribute, please feel free to reach out by email or give us a call.

Thank you for the warm welcome—I look forward to what we can achieve together!
