PRODUCTION 2024 – CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
We are absolutely delighted to share the resounding success of our recent production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! After months of dedicated rehearsals and tireless efforts from our talented students and staff, the show has truly been a sweet triumph. With over 180 students and staff, as well as some wonderful alumni volunteers and session musicians, this was our biggest show to date, and something that everyone involved should truly feel so very proud of.
Our cast brought Roald Dahl’s iconic characters to life with incredible energy and charm, and some of the most spectacular acting and singing talent to ever grace our Kambrya stage. Our art crew, stage crew, and tech crews worked hard to transform our stage into the wonderful world of the show, whilst our costume/hair/makeup team successfully sorted endless costumes and wigs, including 70 Oompa Loompas! Our Front of House crew did a fantastic job with all the pre-show treats and delightful customer service, welcoming audiences into a sold-out theatre for every show! We were thrilled to have a live band again this year, conducted by our very own Adrian Violi, and largely filled by many of our own students and staff. This is an incredible feat, and one that often goes unnoticed, so a huge shoutout to the music department for this astounding achievement.
A huge congratulations and thank you to our outstanding cast for their dedication and hard work, their performances were nothing short of spectacular. We’ve already received so much positive feedback about the standard of the show, and the talent of these kids is not to be underestimated. They were truly exceptional and deserve the highest of praise.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the parents, staff, and volunteers whose support and enthusiasm played a crucial role in bringing this production to life. Your encouragement and involvement have been invaluable, and we greatly appreciate your support. Our Saturday matinee audience might even have noticed a guest appearance in our herd of Oompa Loompas by our principal, Mr Martin McDonald himself!
As we reflect on this incredible achievement, we’re reminded of the power of creativity and teamwork. This production has not only showcased the extraordinary talents of our students but also highlighted the spirit of collaboration and community that defines Kambrya College. I am so grateful to work with the most incredible group of students and staff within our Performing Arts department and could not be prouder of this team and show.
Congratulations to everyone involved! We look forward to celebrating more creative successes in the future.
Including at our upcoming performance at Schools on Stage! More information below.
Again, huge congratulations to all involved, and the sincerest thank you from the bottom of my heart.

SCHOOLS ON STAGE!
We are thrilled to announce that Kambrya College will once again be participating in the Schools on Stage competition this year! Schools on Stage is a musical spectacular where local schools showcase their talents in music, song, and dance, featuring over 200 young performers. Each participating school will present two songs from their school production.
Schools on Stage 2024 will take place on Thursday, September 12th, at Bunjil Place Theatre.
This year, Kambrya College will be presenting “Must Be Believed to Be Seen” and “You Got Whacha Want.” Two outstanding and colourful numbers from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We would love to see as many family members and friends as possible in the audience to cheer on our amazing performers. Your support could help us win the Audience Choice Award, a title we've proudly held for the past five years!
