Year 12 Japanese Consulate Excursion
On Monday 5th August, the Year 12 Japanese class attended the Consulate General of Japan in the Melbourne CBD.
In Unit 4 Japanese, students study the topics of technology in daily life and the environment. The educational seminar was on the topic of technology and sustainability and was delivered by Consulate staff in language providing students with an opportunity to use their language skills in a different setting.
The students also learnt about the purpose of the consulate and further work and study opportunities and scholarships they can access to further utilise their language skills after graduating from high school.
The class was also able to experience Japanese cuisine together at Ippudo Ramen and DAISO before returning from the city.
The students enjoyed the day and the highlight for many was experiencing interaction with the therapy robot seal ‘PARO’.
