Jo Flynn

As we reach the end of another busy and productive term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing commitment and support. Throughout the term, our students have embraced new learning opportunities, demonstrated resilience and perseverance, and contributed positively to the life of our school community.

There has been much to celebrate, from achievements in the classroom to participation in sporting, extra-curricula, cultural and faith-based activities. These experiences enrich our students' education and help foster the strong sense of community that makes our school such a special place.

As the term draws to a close, I week and 1 day to go, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge and enjoy the holiday break with family and friends. Thank you for your partnership in supporting the learning and wellbeing of our students. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term for another exciting chapter of learning and growth.

May God bless you and your families during the holiday period.

Term 3 - Principal on leave

As this will be my final newsletter for Term 2, I would like to let our school community know that I will be commencing a term of leave from the beginning of next term.

I am pleased to advise that Mrs Gai Melville has been appointed as Relieving Principal during my absence. I know the school will continue to flourish under her leadership, supported by our dedicated leadership and staff teams.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school. I look forward to reconnecting with the community upon my return and wish all students, staff and families a safe and enjoyable term in my absence.

Changes for Term 3

There will be a number of changes in Term 3. After petitioning CEDB for assistance, we have been granted extra staffing allocation which will be used for the large number of EAL/D New Arrival students in Kindergarten. This will decrease the overall class sizes for a significant part of each day. Mrs Georgi Shepherd and Mrs Helen Cheggwidden will be supplying the support for these students.  Additionally, Mrs Trudy Hunt will be extending her working days to take KM on Thursdays in addition to her Friday allocation while Mrs Leila Agresta takes on further responsibilities in the Diverse Learning Team.

Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews

As parent-teacher-student interviews were conducted in Term 1, there will be no formal interview evenings this term. However, parents and carers are invited to contact their child's class teacher should they wish to discuss their child's report, progress, or any other matter of concern. Appointments can be arranged at a mutually convenient time early next term.

Sheahan Showcase

Congratulations to all students who participated in our The Sheehan Showcase. The performances were a wonderful celebration of the talent, dedication and enthusiasm of our students. It was inspiring to see the confidence, creativity and hard work displayed on stage, with each performance reflecting many hours of practice and commitment.

Thank you to our music and dance teacher for her guidance and support, and to the families who attended and encouraged our students. Your support plays an important role in helping our students develop their skills and confidence.

We are incredibly proud of all performers and grateful for the way they represented our school with such enthusiasm and excellence. Well done to everyone involved in making the showcase such a memorable event.

Kindergaten 2027 Enrolments

We are currently accepting enrolment applications for Kindergarten 2027. If you have a child due to commence school in 2027, or know of families who may be interested in joining our school community, we encourage applications to be submitted as soon as possible.

Choosing a school is an important decision, and we welcome the opportunity to share what makes our school a wonderful place for children to learn, grow and thrive. Families are invited to contact the school office for further information or to arrange a school tour.

We look forward to welcoming our future Kindergarten students and their families to our school community. Please help spread the word to friends, neighbours and family members who may be considering enrolment for 2027.

See you all in Term 4
