In the Classroom

and out and about!

Bella Visits out Prep Classrooms

This week, our Prep students were very excited to welcome Bella, our wonderful school therapy dog, into their classroom! 🐾

Bella spent time with the students during a calm classroom session, where she helped support positive interactions, confidence building and emotional regulation. The children enjoyed taking turns patting Bella, practising gentle and respectful behaviours, and learning about how therapy dogs help people feel safe and relaxed at school.

Visits from our therapy dog provide many benefits, including:

  • Supporting students to build confidence and self-esteem
  • Encouraging calm and focused behaviour
  • Developing empathy and responsible interactions
  • Creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment

It was lovely to see the smiles on our Prep students’ faces and the caring way they interacted with Bella. She certainly made a big impression!

We would also like to sincerely thank our Prep families for promptly providing consent online. Your support ensures that these valuable wellbeing opportunities can take place smoothly and safely for all students.

We look forward to more special visits from Bella throughout the year! 🐶

Our Sustainability Leaders in Action! 🌱

Ā

This week, our two Sustainability Leaders, Olivia and Jasmine, visited classrooms to share their exciting plan for keeping our school rubbish-free.

Ā

The initiative encourages students to work together and take responsibility for their own spaces and play areas. Each class will be responsible for keeping the area directly around their classroom clean, and certain year levels will also look after specific playgrounds:

  • Grade 2: Area outside classrooms + Grade 2 playground
  • Grade 1: Area outside classrooms + Prep/1 playground

Ā

Olivia and Jasmine will also monitor these spaces, provide feedback on the cleanest areas, and award small prizes or certificates to celebrate students’ efforts.

Ā

We’re thrilled to see our Sustainability Leaders taking on this important role. Please keep an eye out for Olivia and Jasmine in classrooms next week —

Well done to these students for their enthusiasm and for helping our school stay tidy and sustainable!
