Chess Club

In this edition of the newsletter, we shine a spotlight on our Chess Club and explore the many benefits it provides for our students.
- Improves concentration – Children learn to focus carefully and think before they move.
- Builds problem-solving skills – Players have to work out solutions and plan ahead.
- Strengthens memory – Remembering moves, patterns and strategies helps improve memory.
- Encourages patience – Chess teaches children to slow down and not rush decisions.
- Develops strategic thinking – Players learn to think ahead and consider consequences.
- Builds resilience – Winning feels great, but losing teaches children to reflect, learn and try again.

I like Chess because it's fun and it's a long time game for players. To win, you have to block the king’s moves and avoid checkmate.

I have been attending Chess Club for two years. I appreciate the challenge of playing against different opponents. Our coach has taught me new and better ways to checkmate the king.
The clubs schedule below is promoted in all classrooms, and each day over the PA system, students are reminded about which clubs are running during lunch time.
