VPC News

Throughout the term, students in our VPC program have been engaging in a broad and balanced learning experience designed to support their academic, personal, and workplace development. The program incorporates focused literacy and numeracy learning alongside pathways planning, helping students explore future goals, build confidence, and develop a clearer understanding of life beyond school. Students have also enjoyed a wide range of electives, including cooking, art, PE, and FLO Inc, providing meaningful opportunities to build practical skills, express creativity, and collaborate with peers in engaging contexts. A highlight of the term has been the increasing number of students participating in school‑based apprenticeships or work experience one day a week, where they are gaining valuable insight into workplace expectations, developing employability skills, and showcasing growing independence. We would like to thank Chris for his hard work in organising these opportunities, and the businesses that make it possible for our students! The Melbourne city excursion was another standout experience, allowing students to explore the city, practise moving around public spaces independently, and strengthen social and life skills outside the classroom. Overall, the VPC program continues to offer a supportive, flexible, and purposeful learning environment that encourages students to grow, take ownership of their learning, and prepare confidently for their future pathways!
