Bridging Group News

This term in Bridging Maths, students have made steady progress in building their understanding of decimals, with many now confidently applying place value knowledge to support accurate addition and subtraction and beginning to use these strategies more independently. While some students are still working on consistently aligning their work, the group has shown great resilience and perseverance throughout the term - well done, Bridging Group!

Alongside this, we’ve had lots of fun in targeted literacy learning, exploring what it might take to survive a plane crash on a jungle island while developing skills in spelling, grammar, reading, comprehension, and writing. Using Lord of the Flies as our core text, and drawing inspiration from the new TV series, students have engaged thoughtfully with the themes and ideas presented.

Next term, we look forward to revisiting multiplication and multiples to further strengthen foundational maths skills, while continuing with the novel and focusing on writing more detailed and extended text responses.

We look forward to next Term!
