Holiday Works

Welcome back to all of our families. I hope you all had a restful, rewarding and enjoyable holiday period. The school was a buzz of activity throughout January with a range of school improvement and maintenance works being completed. These included:

A new fence has been installed along the rear boundary (oval side) of the school. We hope that the fence will enhance the security of our grounds and the safety of our students while looking much more aesthetically pleasing. With the fence, we have also installed a new gate which will link up with the path that Knox Council are creating from Park Ridge Reserve carpark to our school. More information regarding school gates can be found below.
Staffroom upgrades – installing a larger television and soundbar to make it an effective learning space, installation of felt display boards, electrical work and painting/patching of previous plaster damage.
Roof works in the Art building.
Gutter and roof cleaning.
Gas appliance servicing.
Fire Hydrant testing and maintenance.
All air conditioners have been serviced, cleaned and checked.
Synthetic turf maintenance and repairs.
Exterior painting and repair of fascia board and trim.
Periodic cleaning undertaken including deep cleaning of toilets, detail clean of surfaces and exterior window cleaning.
New storage furniture has been purchased for all Foundation and Year 2 classrooms - we are expecting the delivery in mid February.

We also look forward to many of our annual safety activities such as tree inspections and electrical test and tagging to take place in the coming weeks.

Changes to fencing and gate locations – 2026 School Year

Over the 2025/2026 term break, we have made significant improvements to our school fencing and gate locations. These changes have been implemented to further enhance student safety during school hours and to improve the security of our school grounds outside of school hours.

As shown on the map below, over 200 metres of 2.1m high fencing has been installed along the rear of the school. As part of this work, some entry and exit gate locations have also changed. Please note the following updates:

Gate 1 – Main Entrance at the front of the school (Wentworth Ave)
Gate 2 – Wentworth Access Gate (This will be permanently locked unless required)
Gate 3 – Pedestrian Access Gate
Gate 4 – Vehicle access gate (This will be permanently locked unless required)
Gate 5 – New Pedestrian Access Gate (This gate will be locked from approximately 3:30pm on Friday until 8:15am on Monday)
Gate 6 – Vehicle access gate (This will be permanently locked unless required)
Gate 7 – Burchall Cres Gate (This gate will be locked from approximately 3:30pm on Friday until 8:15am on Monday)

Students who ride their bike will be required to enter via Gate 1 (Main Entrance), Gate 3, Gate 5 or Gate 7 (Burchall Cres)

Meet the Teacher Conferences

Meet the Teacher conferences for 2026 (Levels 1 - 6) will be held in your child's classroom on Tuesday 10 February and Wednesday 11 February. Conferences will run from 3:30pm-5:00pm on Tuesday and 3:30pm -7:30pm on Wednesday.

These conferences will give parents/carers the opportunity to discuss how their child has settled into their 2026 classroom and to provide the teacher with any important information about their child.

Bookings can be made via Compass from Monday 2 February at 9:00 am.
