Our Journey with School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Over the last year, our school has been on an important journey implementing the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. This work has been guided by a shared commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

As part of this process, we have realigned our school values with meaningful input from students, parents and families. We are grateful for the feedback and perspectives shared by our community, which have helped ensure our values truly reflect who we are and what we stand for.

To reinforce and celebrate these values, we will be introducing Value Awards. These awards are designed to acknowledge students who consistently demonstrate our school values and positive behaviours in their everyday actions. At this stage, Value Awards will be the only awards presented at whole-school assemblies. Families will be notified by their child’s classroom teacher when their child is being acknowledged.

In addition to this, each class will ensure that every student is acknowledged throughout the year. This will be a collaborative process, with classmates contributing to identifying and celebrating the positive character traits and behaviours they see in one another.

We are excited about this next step in our SWPBS journey and the positive impact it will have on our school culture. More information about School Wide Positive Behaviour Support will be shared with families soon.
