A Special Visit from Andrew Chinn

We are delighted to welcome Andrew Chinn to St Joseph’s on Thursday, 13 August for a wonderful day of faith, music, movement and fun.

Andrew is an Australian religious educator, songwriter and performer whose music is widely used in Catholic schools and parishes. Before beginning his music ministry, Andrew taught in Catholic primary schools for 20 years. Since 2001, he has travelled extensively throughout Australia and overseas, visiting schools and sharing his faith through engaging concerts and workshops. His songs help children explore important messages about God’s love, kindness, hope, belonging and caring for one another.

Throughout his visit, Andrew will work with each area of our school. Our Foundation–Year 2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students will participate in age-appropriate workshops where they will learn songs, actions and movements in preparation for the afternoon concert. Andrew encourages children to be active participants, so we are looking forward to plenty of singing, laughter and enthusiasm throughout the day!

The day will conclude with a special Whole School Concert from 2:25–3:15 pm, and we warmly invite all families to join us. This will be a wonderful opportunity to see the students perform alongside Andrew and share the songs and messages they have explored during their workshops.

We hope many of our parents, grandparents and special friends can come along and be part of this joyful celebration. We are incredibly excited to welcome Andrew to our school and look forward to sharing this memorable experience with our entire St Joseph’s community!

A Wonderful Fathering Project Evening

Despite the rainy weather on Tuesday evening, we were thrilled to see such an amazing turnout for our Fathering Project gathering at Truemans Road Driving Range.

It was wonderful to have so many dads, grandfathers, father figures and special people come along to spend quality time with their children. Families enjoyed practising their golf swings, hitting plenty of balls and sharing lots of laughs together. The wet weather certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm, with everyone embracing the evening and making the most of the opportunity to connect.

Events like this are about much more than the activity itself. They provide an important opportunity for children and the significant adults in their lives to spend relaxed, meaningful time together while also strengthening friendships and connections across our school community. It was lovely to see families chatting, encouraging one another and enjoying each other’s company in such a welcoming atmosphere.

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain and joined us. Your enthusiasm, positivity and support helped make the evening such a success. We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful St Joseph’s community and look forward to sharing more Fathering Project events throughout the year.

Thank You for Your Generosity

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the families who have generously supported our Mary and St Joseph’s Care initiative.

The response from our community has been truly amazing. The meals, food vouchers and thoughtful offers of assistance have provided practical support and comfort to members of our school community during a challenging time.

Your generosity is a beautiful example of our faith in action and demonstrates the caring spirit that makes St Joseph’s such a special community. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, has made a meaningful difference.

Thank you for showing such kindness, compassion and care for others. We are incredibly grateful.
