Purchasing Tickets
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you get in early to secure tickets for the performance that works best for you. As of this morning, 519 tickets have been sold for the Friday evening performance (approximately 100 left), 418 sold for the Thursday evening performance and 211 for the Thursday Matinee. As mentioned previously, the Thursday Matinee is perfect for grandparents and extended family members.
Please remember:
- There is a limit of six tickets per family for the two evening performances.
- We would appreciate it if you could avoid leaving one seat between bookings.
We have included a QR code and a link for tickets at the bottom of this page.
Parent Helpers
It sounds like we have quite a few parents helping out across the school with costumes at the moment, which is fantastic…thank you.
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, to concerts, we also need parents to help with other jobs. Listed below are the tasks we need help with. If you can help with any of these, please give the office a call and put your name down. You don’t have to commit to helping for all 3 performances and we welcome anyone that can help, even if for just one performance.
- Helping at front of house - This will include checking tickets sending guests in the right direction.
- Ushering guests to seats - Once guests arrive at the appropriate door, our ushers will show guests to their seats.
- Helping with the BBQ - Our canteen team will be running a BBQ outside of the venue at the evening performances. Helpers will be needed to cook and serve.
- Traffic management - Particularly for the evening performances, we need 2 people positioned in University Drive to send people in the right direction.
- Back of stage helpers - As you would expect, most teachers will be looking for up to 2 parents to help back stage. These parents will help to supervise students, but at times will assist with the range of tasks that are required for the kids to be ready to perform and then pack up after performing. Nominated back of stage helpers will need a working with children check and these will be the only parents back of stage. If you would like to help out with this, please speak directly to your child’s teacher.
Food and Drink Available for Purchase at the Concert
Tracey Coats and her team will be running a BBQ outside the concert venue on Thursday and Friday evenings. That will be very handy for those looking for an easy dinner on those nights. Sausages and veggie burgers will be available for purchase (eftpos or cash) from 5:15pm. University staff will also be running a kiosk inside the venue between 5:30pm and 6pm where you can get yourself a coffee and snacks.
Note - Students will be able to purchase lunch from the school canteen on the Tuesday of concert week. Lunches will not be available on the Wednesday and Friday of concert week.
Concert Filming
The Friday evening concert performance will be professionally filmed. Families will have the opportunity to purchase a USB recording of the concert for $25. Purchasing information will follow in the coming weeks.
Please keep an eye on Compass for further information regarding photography and filming of students during the event
