NAPLAN Results 2026
We are pleased to share that Buninyong Primary School achieved a strong set of NAPLAN results in 2026. Our students demonstrated excellent achievement and growth across a number of learning areas, reflecting their hard work, resilience and commitment to learning.
These results are a testament to the dedication of our students, staff and families working together to support every child's learning journey. While we are proud of these achievements, we also recognise that NAPLAN is just one measure of student learning and that there are still opportunities for us to continue improving outcomes for all students. We remain committed to reflecting on our results, celebrating our strengths and identifying areas for ongoing growth.
We are also proud that our school's achievements have been recognised by the Department of Education and local media, highlighting the significant progress our students continue to make.
Individual student NAPLAN reports were sent home with families in the first week of term, and we congratulate all students on their efforts.
Ballarat Young Authors’ Program
Last Thursday, our Ballarat Young Authors' Program students attended their second workshop, hosted at the Scotsburn campus by us and Delacombe Primary School.
This inspiring day focused on the theme "Sparking Your Imagination", with students participating in four engaging sessions led by published authors and experienced presenters.
They explored song writing with Mark Muldoon, creating interesting characters with Laura Feldman, writing in rhyme with Renee Price, and hooking an audience with Dave O'Neill.
Students also enjoyed a Flash Fiction competition during lunch, providing another opportunity to challenge their creativity. It was wonderful to see our young writers enthusiastically developing new skills and discovering fresh ways to bring their ideas to life.
A big thanks to Mrs Connor and Ms. Gould for organising the day in partnership with teachers from Delacombe P.S, and to all the presenters on the day, including our very own Mr. Muldoon.
The Young Authors will take part in their next workshop on August 20th which is being held at the Ballarat Tramway Museum.
Bulldogs Read Program
Last Friday, our Bulldogs Read participants were excited to take part in a special skills clinic at school, led by one of the Ballarat Bulldogs Read staff members. Students had a fantastic time developing their football skills through a range of fun and engaging activities while building teamwork, confidence and sportsmanship. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We thank the Ballarat Bulldogs Read team for providing such a rewarding session.
Book Week – Week 5
Book Week will be celebrated in Week 5 (22–28 August). Although we won't be holding a dress-up day this year due to the school concert, students will enjoy a range of fun Book Week activities throughout the week.
