Our Thoughts Are with the Wines Family 

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Geraldine Wines, the mother of Oscar (Year 4) and Spencer (Year 2), passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.

Our thoughts are with Nathan, Oscar, Spencer and their extended family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.

We know our school community will join us in keeping the Wines family in your thoughts and respecting their privacy during this difficult time.

Thank you to our school community for your care, kindness and support.

Concert

We’ve made strong progress over the past week, both in terms of organisation, but also in terms of learning class acts.  It has been really nice seeing the concert practice that has been happening around the school.  The kids are fully invested and clearly enjoying the experience and challenge.  This is a reminder of why it’s so good to provide our students with experiences like this. 

And of course, we now have our finale song, which is ‘Coming Home’, by Sheppard, and the kids are enjoying learning and practising this as well.

For all things concert, refer to the dedicated page in this newsletter.  And our Parent Concert Information Booklet is close to being ready to distribute…..hopefully by the end of this week.

100 Days of Prep

Our preps have done an excellent job again this year, with the guidance of their teachers and support from parents.  They transitioned well at the beginning this year and have come such a long way in terms of their learning.  It is quite amazing to see the progress students make in their first year of school. 

They certainly had a lot of fun celebrating 100 days of prep and we look forward to seeing what they achieve in the second half of this year.  A big thankyou to our prep parents who did an excellent job with costumes for last Friday and encouraged their children to embrace the day.

Playgroup

You might be aware that Playgroup is now operating every week, alternating between Buninyong (Fridays, starting at 10am) and Scotsburn (Wednesdays, starting at 9:30am).  Last week’s session was in Buninyong and it was great to see a number of parents and children having fun and getting to know each other.  All families are welcome to attend.

The schedule for sessions for the remainder of this term is as follows:

·         Week 4 - Wednesday August 5, Scotsburn

·         Week 5 - Friday August 14, Buninyong

·         Week 6 - Wednesday August 19, Scotsburn

·         Week 7 – Friday August 28, Buninyong

·         Week 8 - Wednesday September 2, Scotsburn

·         Week 9 - Wednesday September 9, Scotsburn

·         Week 9 - Friday September 11, Buninyong

·         Week 10 - Wednesday September 16, Scotsburn

2027 Prep Enrolments

A reminder if you have a child to enrol in prep for 2027, please access an enrolment form from the website or from the office, fill it out and send it in ASAP.  Once your

child is enrolled, you’ll be on the mail out list for transition updates, which

includes information about our Preschooler Program and Orientation Day. 

Please pass this message on to anyone else who may be in the same situation.
