Welcome Back to Term 3, 2025

It has been a busy and, at times, challenging start to the year as many of us have balanced the demands of work, family, and school life. It is hard to believe that we have already reached Term 3, and in just a few short weeks our Class of 2026 will be preparing to graduate from SPC.

During the recent holidays, I was fortunate to work at the sacred grounds of Wimbledon. Walking through one of the world's most iconic sporting venues, I was reminded of the famous Rudyard Kipling words displayed above the players' entrance to Centre Court:

"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two impostors just the same..."

Those words have always stayed with me. They made me reflect on the pressures our Year 12 students may begin to feel as they enter the final stages of their school journey and prepare for their examinations.

The enduring message of Kipling's poem is that life is not defined by a single moment of success or disappointment. Wimbledon celebrates this philosophy by reminding every player that neither victory nor defeat determines who they are. High-stakes moments are important, but they are only chapters in a much longer story.

Whether you win the match, ace the exam, or face an unexpected setback, these moments are temporary milestones along your journey. True resilience is not about being fearless; it is about finding a sense of calm, perspective, and purpose, even in the midst of challenge and uncertainty.

Each year, there is only one Wimbledon champion, yet every player leaves having grown through the experience. Likewise, Term 3 is just one significant moment in time for our Class of 2026. While the coming weeks will bring hard work and important exams, they do not define a person's character or future. What matters most is the courage to keep striving, to learn from every experience, and to support one another along the way.

As we begin this term, I encourage every member of our school community to embrace the opportunities ahead, celebrate the small wins, learn from the challenges, and remember that success is measured not only by results, but by the resilience, kindness, and determination we show every day.

Round up your family, friends, or fellow school parents and book a table together. It's also the perfect opportunity to introduce new friends to the wonderful SPC community.

The excitement doesn't stop with the trivia! Throughout the evening there will be fantastic auctions and raffles, culminating in the draw of the inaugural SPC Car Raffle, a moment you won't want to miss.

Pop Friday, 23 October in your diary now and keep an eye out for ticket sales, which will be launching soon. We can't wait to see you there for a night of fun, community spirit, and fundraising!

Saturday Sports – Powell Canteen

With only a limited number of games being played at SPC this Saturday between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, the Powell Canteen will not be open.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back next Saturday.
