Wominjeka to OSHC 

We acknowledge the first peoples of the Kulin Nation, their Dreaming of the past, present and future. We pay our respect for their land by looking after the land we learn and play on.

With winter well upon us some students have chosen to hunker down inside, reading in our Book Nook, drawing in their drawing books, weaving God’s eyes with wool and popsicle sticks or playing Dungeons and Dragons with our very own Dungeon Master Lucy. Our Japanese braided friendship bracelets have continued through to this term, keeping fingers busy. 

Of course there are still many children who prefer to be out and running around. The playgrounds have been a popular request and as ever a big draw card. Students have conducted their own AFL matches, tested their jumping in the long jump pit and made incredible cities in the sandpit. 

Important note: 

The program will be offering care next Wednesday the 5th August due to the schools scheduled curriculum day. The program will run from 7:30am – 5:30pm. Students will need to bring their recess, lunch and a drink bottle, free dress is permitted. We will provide breakfast as well as an afternoon tea snack. 

If you need to use the program on this day please get your bookings in as soon as possible so we can ensure enough educators across the day.  

What’s growing in the veggie patch?

We have a great crop of cabbages, spinach and parsley ready for the picking. Last week we used the parsley in our cooking activity, cauliflower fritters. This recipe can be found in our OSHC Tried and Tested Recipe book. Our crop of cauliflower and broccoli are slowly peaking through so we have our fingers crossed we get a few to cook up.
