FIRST RITE OF RECONCILIATION - TUESDAY 26TH AUGUST

Congratulations to our Grade 2 sacramental candidates who successful participated in the First Rite of Reconciliation last week. This sacrament is a beautiful gift of God’s mercy and love, inviting all who participate to experience forgiveness, healing and a renewed relationship with Him. Blessing to each of our candidates as they embrace God’s mercy and walk in the light of Jesus. Thank you to Father Boniface and Father Henry for facilitating the sacrament, we appreciate the time taken to listen and guide the children. Your patience ensured the experience was one that brought peace and charity to their spiritual journey.

WORLD SOCIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY - WDSJ IS OBSERVED ANNUALLY ON THE FINAL SUNDAY OF AUGUST

The 2025 theme of WDSJ, “Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps of Social Justice,” focuses on inclusive policies and social protection, while highlighting the importance of “Strengthening a Just Transition for a Sustainable Future.” Ever since 1940 the Catholic Church has issued a statement and this year the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Social Justice Statement: Signs of Hope on the Edge: Serving homeless people with mental ill-health, reminds us of the raw truth: homelessness and mental ill-health are deeply entwined crises. SEASONS OF CREATION - 1st SEPTEMBER - 4th OCTOBER

September 1 is the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. Pope Leo has issued a message for the day titled "Seeds of Peace and Hope". In it, he encourages us to take action to protect our damaged earth and all those who live on it, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

The full text of Pope Leo’s Message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation may be found here:

The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation begins the Season of Creation which runs through to the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, October 4.

It is an ecumenical celebration of our Christian commitment to caring for earth and all who live on it. The official Season of Creation website offers many excellent resources for use by parishes, schools and individuals during this special time of the year:
