Principal's Message

With Keith Willett

Dear Families of Cobram AGS,

As we spiral toward the end of another very busy term, I am taking the opportunity to recap on significant recent events as well as to remind our community of other important happenings in coming days. The following is a snapshot of just some of the elements of our school that are so worthy of celebration.

Harmony Day

On Friday 20 March we celebrated Harmony Day, recognising and valuing the rich cultural diversity within our school and the wider Australian community. Many students and staff wore a touch of orange and have taken part in activities that promote inclusivity, respect, and belonging. It’s a wonderful reminder that everyone belongs at Cobram AGS.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN assessments continued for our Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students across these past weeks. We commend students for their positive approach and effort during this period. Thank you to staff and families for supporting students to feel calm and confident.

Year 8 Camp

Our Year 8 students accompanied by Mr Thompson, Mrs Rouse, Mr O’Dwyer and Mrs Jonker enjoyed a fantastic camp experience to Phillip Island last week. Unlike many other local schools, we are committed to providing a camps program commencing in Years 3/4 and extending across all other year levels. Camps provide valuable opportunities for personal growth, resilience, and teamwork and the Year 8 group at Phillip Island certainly had a taste of each of these elements of personal development.

This Week

Taster Days

Taster Days will take place next week in both the Foundation 2027 and Year 7 2027 cohorts. Taster days offer prospective students the chance to experience life at Cobram AGS. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase our programs, school culture, and promote positive student experiences.

Trades Centre Opening

And of course, we are very excited about the upcoming formal opening of our Trades Centre this Friday.

Thank you to all members of our school community for your ongoing support and involvement.
