Years 3 and 4

Students in Years 3 and 4 have continued exploring percussion instruments and their history. Students learned about the origins and cultural significance of maracas and tambourines, as well as drumming techniques using sticks. Through practical activities, they developed their rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and understanding of percussion instruments.

Years 5 and 6

Students in years 5 and 6 have been exploring rap and its history. Working in small groups, students had the choice of creating their own rap or performing a rap based on one of Dr Seuss’s books. They used GarageBand to create and record the music, developing their creativity, collaboration, rhythm, and digital music production skills
