Secondary Years

National Science Week | 17-21 August
This week, our students celebrated Science Week with a hands-on exploration of seeds, plants, soil and the world around us!
During lunchtime, students took part in a range of fun and fascinating experiments and activities, including making salty snowflakes and seed paper, exploring seeds under magnifying lenses and microscopes, investigating which liquids and soils help plants grow, creating dust cloud patterns, making sandstone and even growing plants from food scraps.
Our Year 11 & 12 students also took on some special challenges, including building terrariums and tackling the Straw Tower Challenge. The week will wrap up with students planting their own plants, collecting their Science Week creations and discovering the entrants in our poster competition.
It has been a fantastic week of curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning, with plenty of opportunities for our students to ask questions, investigate and discover!
Year 12's visit their Prep Buddies
On Thursday 13 August, our Year 12 students enjoyed a very special morning visiting their Prep buddies. Before the visit, the Year 12s thoughtfully wrote encouraging letters to the Preps, sharing advice and encouragement from the perspective of students nearing the end of their own school journey. Together, the buddies completed a booklet comparing their favourite parts of the school day, their interests, and what they hope to do when they eventually leave school.
It was wonderful to see the Year 12s sharing their experiences, listening carefully and taking such genuine care of their younger buddies. The morning was a beautiful reminder of the connections that can be formed across our school community, from those just beginning their school journey to those preparing to take their next steps beyond it.

1 Step Ahead - Financial Wellbeing Education
Our Year 12 students recently took part in an engaging 1 Step Ahead financial wellbeing session, designed to equip them with practical knowledge and confidence as they prepare for life beyond school.
Students explored the connection between money, wellbeing and life goals, considering their personal relationship with money and how their values and experiences can influence financial decisions. Students explored budgeting, goal setting, saving and making informed choices about their future.
The session encouraged students to think beyond simply earning and spending money, focusing on building a healthy financial mindset and developing the skills needed to navigate adulthood with greater confidence.
It was wonderful to see students actively participating, sharing their perspectives and asking thoughtful questions. We hope the knowledge and strategies gained through 1 Step Ahead will support our Year 12 students as they take their next steps into their future.
