Hi everyone,
This week the whole school have been taking part in Bullying No Way Week. We explored this year's theme, "Small Acts, Big Impact" and talked about how small actions – like including someone, speaking up or showing kindness – can create meaningful change. The Foundation students took part in Kid Helpline's Largest anti-bullying lesson which taught students how to turn their words into their anti-bullying superpower! The lesson involved hearing developmentally appropriate real-life stories about how other kids stopped bullying and practicing what to say to common mean comments. The Foundation students did an excellent job practising kind words and identifying who they can go to for help at school. We then made a paper chain to display in our classroom to remind us how we can work together to create a safe, caring, and connected classroom community.

Hey Families,
Here we are in Week 6! 🌸 It may be a little rainy outside, but our classroom and our hearts have been filled with colour as the flowers continue to blossom. 🌷
This past week, the children enjoyed a truly creative and sensory experience that immersed them in the beauty of flowers. Using light and shadows created by the flowers, the children were encouraged to observe, explore, draw and paint their ideas onto canvas. Gentle sounds and music enhanced the experience and helped inspire their creativity and imagination. Once completed, the canvas will become a beautiful tablecloth for the children to use when we share and enjoy our very own Paddock to Plate food at the end of the term. 🌱🥗
It was such a joyful experience, and I hope the photos capture some of the wonder, creativity and happiness the children experienced.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend! 💐

Hello families,
This week as part of Science Week, and to support our learning about explanation texts, we investigated how sound moves through the air in waves of energy and sound waves create vibrations. We trialled the 'dancing salt experiment'. With plastic wrap secured tightly over a bowl, our lovely singers made sounds of various pitches that caused the grains of salt on top to jump and dance!
After attending the Bullying, no way! online seminar, students have started to create posters to remind all to PAUSE-CHOOSE-ACT. Our focus is on choosing to act in ways that do not cause harm to others. They also created a list with acts of kindness and have been working at tracking their acts of kindness, aiming to fill their jar this week. Students were treated to an act of kindness in the form of a special pencil. What a lovely gift.
We look forward to all the fun ahead next week as we celebrate Book Week. I wonder what costumes we are going to see at the parade?
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Abby and Lauren

This week, we recognised Bullying No Way Week and explored this year’s theme, Small Acts, Big Impact. We discussed how small actions, such as including others, speaking kindly and speaking up, can help everyone feel safe and feel like they belong. On Monday, we participated in an online seminar hosted by Kids Helpline, where students learned to Pause, Choose and Act, pausing to notice how we feel, choosing a safe and respectful response, and acting in a way that helps rather than harms. We explored how remembering this can help us make safe and respectful choices, even during challenging moments.
Students then created posters to share how we can use this strategy and demonstrate kindness, respect and teamwork in our school community.
Next week we have another busy and exciting week. Monday the Year 4s, 5s and 6s will be heading to Athletics day. It is also Book Week next week, we have lots of exciting activities throughout the week to celebrate. You may want to check your cupboards and dress up boxes this weekend in preparation for the dress up parade on Wednesday!
Thanks for our going support and collaboration, have a beautiful and restful weekend!

Year 5/6J
Hi Families,
As apart of ackowledging and recognising 'Bullying No Way' week, students in 5/6J participated in an online webinar conducted by Kids Helpline that informed them of key tools and strategies that can assist if you experience or witness acts of bullying or unkindness. One particular strategy was the Pause, Choose and Act approach, in which students got to be able to share and discuss problems to scenarios using this technique.
It has been fabulous to see 5/6J be so engaged with our other focus of Bullying No Way Week; Small Acts, Big Impact. I have witnessed many students display kindness, care and compassion to others both inside and beyond the classroom, and it is so pleasing to see.
Have a great weekend!

Chloe & Arvin: In R.E. we learnt about Discipleship. Discipleship teaches us how to listen and be more like Jesus. Discipleship is about being followers of Jesus. We had to choose a disciple out of the twelve disciples of Jesus and research all about them. For example, we were finding out how they met and then followed Jesus, whether there was a story in the Bible that talks about this specific disciple, what special trait this disciple had and what this disciples' story taught us about being a good friend or follower of Jesus. It was a really good project to do.
