Marcus Kierl recently travelled to Clunes to compete in the Field & Game Nationals, setting himself the goal of placing among the top competitors. He didn’t just achieve that goal, he exceeded it in spectacular fashion, finishing five targets clear of the next competitor after some incredible shooting performances.

One of the standout moments came in his second round, where Marcus shot a perfect score of 25/25 — an extraordinary achievement that few sporting shooters will ever experience, particularly at a national event where the targets are set to a higher level of difficulty.

His outstanding performance saw him crowned the 2025 Field & Game Australia Junior National Champion.

As a reward for his efforts, Marcus took home several prizes, including a brand new rifle, capping off a weekend he will never forget.

Hunter to represent Rich River at the 2025 Ford NSW Open

We would like to congratulate Hunter Reid on earning a spot in this year’s Ford NSW Open Pro-Am.

Past winners of the event include golfing greats such as Greg Norman, Ian Baker-Finch, Craig Parry, Lucas Herbert (LIV Golf) and David Micheluzzi, who famously won here at Rich River before launching his career on the DP World Tour. The tournament has also featured Australian legends Adam Scott, Jason Day and Cameron Smith.

The tournament opened an application process for juniors across the state to apply for this prestigious opportunity. With only 34 spots available, our captain Joel Watson and PGA professional Jayden Dixon believed Hunter was the perfect candidate and promptly submitted his application.

We were thrilled to receive the news that Hunter had been accepted for this tremendous opportunity. This will be an invaluable learning experience for Hunter as he continues to develop his golfing career. Already a two-time Junior Club Champion at Rich River and a very low marker for his age, Hunter will gain great knowledge and experience from competing alongside players of this calibre.

Darcy recently competed at the Boneo Cup, finishing 7th in the Junior (U18) Championship - an incredible result against strong competition.

This qualified him for the final of the Australian Showjumping Championships where he finished 30th overall.
