UR Strong Program

Supporting your child through the ups and downs of friendship!
Syndal South Primary School is a proud member of the UR Strong (Friendology) Program. Earlier this year we had a fabulous launch day where students participated in lessons focusing on quick come backs. Over the past three terms I am sure you would have heard and are now familiar with many of the following words and phrases students have learnt after completing UR Strong lessons with their class.
Inner Ninja
Friend-o-Cycle
Friend O Meter
Quick come backs
Confront the issue
Forgive and Forget
Friendships change and that’s ok
As parents, it is sometimes difficult to find the right answers to help our children when they come home and tell you they have had a friendship fire. As I reflect on my own childhood, I remember the two strategies my parents would give me were: Ignore and walk away.
To help support families navigate their child’s friendship issue, the UR Strong Program offers free membership to families.
The membership provides parents with opportunities to view videos and access worksheets which have many practical tips to help you navigate friendships with your child.
If you feel as a parent that you would like to use the language which the staff are using here at Syndal South to empower your child to navigate friendship issues, I encourage you to become a member of the UR Strong Program. You can explore the many resources and practise the language that your child is so familiar with now.
