Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation
Mr Cook's Year 11 and 12 Sport Lifestyle & Recreation class is engaging in lawn bowls on Tuesday as part of their practical lessons at the bowling club. It's wonderful to see them sporting their new bucket hats as well!
Northern Schools Lamb Competition 5 May
THS celebrated an outstanding day at the Northern Schools Prime Lamb Competition in Armidale. The school proudly took first place in the single lamb category, competing against 14 schools from the NE/NW region with a total of 130 lambs.
Additionally, THS earned first and second places in the pen of three for the lightweight category, featuring Charolais cross lambs bred by the McCowen family. In the heavyweight category, THS secured first, second, and fourth places with lambs bred by the school!
THS was awarded the reserve and champion lightweight pen of three, as well as the champion and reserve heavyweight accolades. To cap it off, THS also claimed the champion lamb of the show on the hook.

UNE Open Day 4 May
Our senior students explored the University of New England’s Armidale campus at Open Day. They attended workshops and campus tours, learnt about subjects like Science, Business, Education and Health, and spoke with current students and staff. The visit offered valuable insights on study options, campus life, support services and future pathways. Thank you to Mrs Clothier!
Wellbeing
Congratulations to the following Year 7 & Year 8 students who have received their Bronze award in our wellbeing program.
Technology
Mr Sproule's Year 7 students participated in a rubber band challenge during their Technology lesson. Excellent work, everyone!
Mr Sproule's Year 9/10 Industrial Technology Wood students enjoying the final days of Term 1 in their practical lesson.
Multi Categorical
MC room 11 students participated in a practical cooking session, creating Spaghetti Bolognaise towards the end of Term 1. Well done everyone.
Students participating in the Independent Living & Working Skills Wednesday Program were actively engaged at the Tenterfield Railway Station during Term1. Their efforts were focused on restoring a tricycle and a dog box train carriage. On 1 April, the volunteers enjoyed popcorn for morning tea, prepared by Jayda.
The program continues in Term 2.
