5/6 News…

Two lessons of gymnastics left!

Our senior students have continued to thoroughly enjoy their weekly sessions at BTYC Gymnastics, with just two weeks remaining in the program. Throughout the term, students have shown outstanding enthusiasm, energy and engagement as they have challenged themselves across a range of activities focused on balance, coordination, strength and teamwork.

It has been fantastic to see students stepping outside of their comfort zones, encouraging one another, and demonstrating resilience when learning new skills. The positive attitude displayed by our senior students has been a real highlight, and we thank the staff at BTYC Gymnastics for creating such a supportive, inclusive and engaging environment for all students involved.

Kinder buddies

Our Grade 5 students have begun building wonderful connections with their kinder buddies from Tunstall Square Kindergarten, with some students already enjoying visits to the kinder throughout the term. On Wednesday, we were excited to welcome the kinder buddies to the senior building for the very first time, giving students the opportunity to proudly show their learning spaces and continue developing these special relationships. We have also recently begun visiting the GP Room to meet the kinder students from Donvale Preschool. These buddy sessions have been filled with excitement, kindness and enthusiasm, with our Grade 5 students demonstrating excellent leadership, responsibility and care as they support and engage with the younger students.

World Expo

Our senior students have also begun preparations for the upcoming World Expo, with students forming groups and beginning their investigations into the countries they have selected to study. There has already been plenty of excitement and collaboration as groups start researching important information about their chosen nation, including culture, geography, landmarks, traditions and daily life. It has been fantastic to see students working together so positively, sharing ideas and showing curiosity and enthusiasm as they begin planning how they will present their learning in creative and engaging ways.

Importantly, we are closing in on the date of the expo, and will have this confirmed by the next edition of Snippets!
