Primary Pyjama Day
The final day of term was filled with fun, laughter and school spirit as students and staff across the Seymour College Primary Sector came together to celebrate Pyjama Day. Classrooms were filled with cosy pyjamas, colourful slippers and plenty of smiling faces as everyone enjoyed a relaxed and engaging day of learning and celebration. Students participated in a range of enjoyable activities, shared special moments with their classmates and embraced the opportunity to finish the term in a positive and memorable way. Pyjama Day was a wonderful celebration of our strong school community and a fantastic way to recognise the hard work and achievements of all students throughout the term.

Reading Fluency 📚
Our Foundation and Year One students have been working on their reading fluency this term. Every day, students sit knee to knee, elbow to elbow, to work with their reading buddy. They take turns being the reader and the coach.
Reading for fluency is an important skill that supports reading accuracy and expression over time. Students read the same text for a week. This allows them to develop their understanding of the text, increase their accuracy and develop expression.
This term we are also developing a routine around turn and talk. This is where students face their partner, knee to knee, and discuss a class topic. Students are learning to become responsible and supportive listeners and give a thoughtful response. Students must be accountable during turn and talk as they may be called on to share their partner's response with their peers.
PE 🏃➡️
Our Grade 5/6 students had a fantastic time working together in PE this morning while trying out our brand-new parachute! 🌈 Through fun cooperative games, they demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and encouragement. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another and having loads of fun while building these important skills. Well done, Grade 5/6! 👏
