Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers, 

Welcome to Term 3, 2026. I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable term break and is feeling refreshed for the busy term ahead.

We have some important dates coming up, such as our VCE Information Evening which is scheduled for Wednesday 5th of August at 6:00pm in the Performing Arts Centre.  The focus of the evening is pathways and subject selections within the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) which includes a Vocational Major (VM) pathway. We are looking forward to welcoming families on Wednesday 5th of August.

On an important note, during Thursday and Friday of last week, the College was required to activate its emergency management procedures in response to two separate false emergency calls received by the school.  I would like to sincerely thank our staff for their professionalism, calm approach, and unwavering commitment to supporting our students throughout both incidents. Their actions helped ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone at the College and are greatly appreciated.

We understand that incidents of this nature can be concerning for families. Please be assured that when an event has the potential to impact the school community, communication with families will always occur as soon as it is appropriate and practical to do so. Our priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff while also providing timely and accurate information as circumstances become clearer.

Incidents such as those that occurred last week highlight the importance of ensuring your family contact details are kept up to date. This helps to ensure you receive important information and any emergency communications from Seymour College via Compass in a timely manner.
