Welcome Back!

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all of our Defence families had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break and were able to spend some quality time together. Whether you travelled, visited loved ones or simply enjoyed a slower pace, I hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term.

Term 3 is shaping up to be another fun and busy term at Seymour College, and I look forward to catching up with all of our Defence students over the coming weeks.

Defence Club Returns!

Defence Club is back and will be running every Tuesday and Thursday during second break.

We have an exciting term planned, including:

Games and team challenges
Trivia and brain teasers
Guinness World Record challenges
Taylor Swift Bingo
Spring-themed activities
LEGO challenges
Creative craft sessions
Hot Chocolate Thursdays, where students can relax, enjoy a warm drink and connect with friends

Defence Club is a welcoming space where students can build friendships, have fun and enjoy some downtime in a supportive environment. Whether you are new to Seymour College or have been here for years, all Defence students are welcome.

Supporting Defence Families

As your Defence School Mentor, I am here to support both students and families throughout their Defence journey.

I am happy to help answer questions about the school, the local community or Defence support services.

If your family is preparing for a posting later this year, please let me know when your plans are confirmed. I can assist with transition support, connect you with Defence School Mentors at your new location and help make the move as smooth as possible.

Community Event

🇦🇺 Vietnam Veterans’ Day Ceremony

Tuesday, 18 August – 11am

This year, VM will again be hosting the annual Vietnam Veterans’ Day Ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Walk in Seymour.

This important community event honours the courage, service and sacrifice of all Australians who served during the Vietnam War.

We would love to see our Defence families and the wider Seymour College community attend and support our veterans. Your attendance is a meaningful way to show appreciation for those who served and to help ensure their stories continue to be remembered by future generations.

We hope to see everyone there!
