Orange Room
We have had a positive start to the term, with students settling back into their classroom routines well. While some students returned with more enthusiasm than others, everyone is beginning to adjust and engage in their learning.
Our secondary students have started their Woodwork lessons and have shared that they are really enjoying the experience so far.
This term, our Inquiry unit is Caring for Country. Throughout the term, students will explore what it means to care for Country by participating in discussions, conducting research, and engaging in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to think about how we can all care for our environment and community.
We are looking forward to a wonderful term filled with meaningful learning, collaboration, and new experiences.

State Cross Country 🏃➡️
Last Thursday students participated in State Cross country held in Yarra Glen. Congratulations to all that attended. Congratulations to Summer who ran an amazing course and came first in her age group.
"What is Next?" Post schooling information session
At the end of term 2, Tim and Kristie held a post school information session for students and parents in Special Ed. Information was around ‘What is next? Post schooling. What a great turn out. We thank all those that attended. We had a guest speaker, past student Indii who spoke to the group about what she is currently doing – attending the centre completing a course. She hopes to be able to get into aged care. This leads into our "All-Abilities" expo held on September 17th at Our Place 2:30pm-4:30pm
VPC
On the final day of Term Two, the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) students successfully concluded their Work-Related Skills (Unit 2) project by operating an enterprise initiative, entitled the 'VPC Burger Bar'. This practical project allowed students to experience the complexities of managing a small business within a structured environment.
To ensure the success of the venture, students engaged in extensive planning, consultation and research.
Students Conducted:
- Market research: Analysing consumer preferences and determining popular menu options.
- Financial planning: Establishing budgets and managing production costs.
- Supply chain management: Sourcing ingredients and organising shopping trips.
- Hospitality operations: Preparing and cooking gourmet burgers under strict food safety guidelines.
The initiative was highly successful, with the student team delivering an exceptional burger product that was thoroughly enjoyed by Special Ed and Admin staff. All profits generated from the Burger Bar have been donated to the Seymour College Building Fund to help contribute to the purchasing of air conditioners for the wider school community.
