School Council Report

The school council met on Tuesday 23rd of June.

Some of the items discussed were:

- Mitch Harris’ position went through an internal process, with Shantelle Stimson being appointed as the Acting Assistant Principal. With Mitch away and Shantelle back filling his position, the school is currently advertising to cover for this altered work load.

- A Capital Works Fund application has now been submitted for an upgrade to the outdoor space on the soccer oval.

- A date was set for the 2025 Annual Report to be presented to the school community - Wednesday 22 July 6pm. It is planned that it will be a blended format, where community can join the presentation in person at the school, or via a video link. All welcome.

- Finance: The finance team held their meeting at the beginning of June. A Camps and Excursions Activities Reconciliation sheet was presented and was noted to be easier to follow and read. There have been some plumbing repairs carried out and pest control baiting expenses since the last meeting.

- Student Leadership Report - a sports uniform survey was collated with a majority of students in support of a change from the current white sports top. Viable options for a different sports top are being discussed, with the aim for implementation of the new top in 2027. There will be a transition period where the current top can still be worn.

- Discussion around next year’s Indonesian trip and how to better prepare students for managing illness/hygiene/hydration while away, with additional health information sessions.

The next School Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 11th of August, Room 9, at 6:30pm.
