Abstract Art

Junior School (Prep-Grade 2):

Prep students have been exploring the creation of self-portraits. They have been learning how to draw from observation. Students have been practising drawing eyes using crayons and taking their time to produce their best work. 

Grade 1/2 students have been exploring oil pastel art. They have been creating artwork inspired by Etel Adnan. Students have been using contrasting colours, texture and shape to develop abstract landscape pieces inspired by Adnan.

Senior School (Grade 3-6):

Grade 3/4 tudents have been exploring Abstract Art with different mediums. They learned to create artwork inspired by different artists, drawing inspiration from Sonia Gurrpulun Guyula and Wassily Kandinsky. Students created artwork using crayons, oil pastels and water colour, creating patterns through use of colour, shape and line.

Grade 5/6 students have been continuing to create their artwork for the upcoming Art Show; planning their designs and exploring different patterns.
